Job Title: General Ledger / Payroll Accountant - Nonprofit
Location: Oakland area (100% Onsite)

About Us:
We are a mission-driven nonprofit organization in the Danville area seeking a detail-oriented and experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our team. You'll work onsite alongside a collaborative group, helping us optimize financial processes and maintain accurate accounting records.
What We're Looking For:
- General Ledger expertise: At least 3 years of GL accounting experience, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) automation and ability to support AP process improvements.
- Light Accounts Receivable (AR) experience, including collections and payment postings.
- Experience with MIP accounting software is highly preferred.
- Nonprofit experience is a plus, especially knowledge of fund accounting.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage General Ledger activities, including monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and ensuring timely financial close.
- Support the optimization of AP automation processes, collaborating with the team to identify and implement efficiency improvements.
- Assist with light AR duties: posting payments, handling collections, and reconciling accounts.
- Maintain accurate and detailed financial records in compliance with nonprofit accounting standards.
- Provide support for audits and reporting requirements.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Strong proficiency in MIP software and advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
- 3+ years of accounting experience; nonprofit experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work onsite full-time.
